Toyota New Zealand is recalling 4874 vehicles, sold new in New Zealand, due to a potential issue with the fuel pump.
There are multiple models affected that were manufactured between September 2013 and July 2019 including;
Toyota:
Camry
Corolla
FJ Cruiser
Highlander
Landcruiser Prado
Lexus:
GS
IS
LC
LS
LX
NX
RC
RX
This is a precautionary measure due to the potential for the fuel pump to stop operating, displaying warning lights and messages on the instrument panel. In some instances, loss of motive power may occur leaving the vehicle unable to be restarted.
The remedy will be completed free of charge by Toyota stores.
Owners of the vehicles, which are traceable through NZTA registration data, will be contacted by Toyota New Zealand through a letter in due course.
For further information please contact: 0800 TOYOTA (0800 869 682) or you can search your registration number here: https://www.toyota.co.nz/owners/recall/ to see if your vehicle is involved in the recall.
