Louise regularly sees the good, the bad and everything else in between when she visits a range of businesses to undertake Drug Testing. When a company decided to undertake a full site clearance one day one back at work after the Christmas and New Year shutdown period, Louise says,

“A staff member failed a drug test at the beginning of the year when their company decided to do a full site clearance.”

Fortunately, on this occasion the staff member was given the chance for random testing following a rehab programme. Louise describes the overall outcome of this as less than ideal sharing that even though the company acted in good faith, to allow the staff member this opportunity, that after random tests, said staff member showed she was still failing and consequently she lost her job.

After losing her job and seeing her position being advertised, Louise shares that this ex-employee was determined that that was HER job and she wrote a sincere letter of apology to her ex-Management team. To supplement her letter of apology, she also provided a drug test which she was successful in passing.

The company sought professional advice regarding this staff member as they regretfully had to let her go.  Being under the influence of drugs in the workplace could/would be a danger to herself or a member of staff or the public. However, the company recognised she was a great worker and team player.

Louise goes on to say “This lady was given her job back, following ongoing monthly random testing which she was consistently passing. Talking this experience through with her she said her partner have given up smoking as well, they gave up together.”

Highlighting a positive work story such as the one above, shows that there are many aspects of the job of Recruitment Consultant and workplace Drug Testing Technician that many don’t see from the outside. Good for her and thank you to the business that believes in there people!
